INsu-LINE PROJECT IMPACT ACCELERATION PROGRAMME

Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery
University of Naples Federico II

1. Introduction

The INsu-LINE project – INterrupting the LINE between type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases with the support of Artificial Intelligence – was created with the aim of contributing to the improvement of prevention, early diagnosis, management and monitoring of conditions associated with diabetes through the integration of clinical research, technological innovation, digital health and the active involvement of citizens.

Scientific evidence shows that nutrition, physical activity, social participation, digital health and health literacy are key factors in preventing diabetes, obesity and the main related chronic diseases, as well as in reducing the risk of cardiovascular, metabolic and functional complications.

For this reason, the Impact Acceleration Programme aims to transform the scientific results of the project into concrete benefits for citizens, families and local communities.

2. Purpose

The Programme aims to accelerate the social, health and territorial impact of the INsu-LINE project through initiatives dedicated to:

  • promotion of healthy lifestyles;
  • health and digital literacy;
  • social inclusion;
  • support for frail people and caregivers;
  • citizen science;
  • valorisation of evidence produced by research;
  • development of sustainable models of territorial collaboration.

5. INsu-LINE Community of Practice

The Community of Practice represents the collaborative infrastructure of the Programme.

It promotes:

  • sharing of experiences;
  • identification of good practices;
  • interdisciplinary collaboration;
  • development of joint initiatives;
  • knowledge transfer;
  • dissemination of results.

The Community of Practice will be coordinated by the Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery.

6. Principle of Contribution to the Observatory

The INsu-LINE Observatory represents the knowledge infrastructure of the Programme.

Its role is to:

  • collect evidence generated by the partners;
  • valorise the contributions of citizen science;
  • collect good practices;
  • document organisational models;
  • collect operational recommendations;
  • valorise products and tools developed during the Programme.

The Observatory represents one of the main sustainability and legacy tools of the Programme.
